Jose Mourinho says Chelsea return was 'easy decision'

On Monday it was announced that 50-year-old ex-Chelsea trainer Jose Mourinho would return to his former club to a managing position. Mourinho helped Real to the Spanish league title in 2012 and has won two European Cups with Porto and Inter Milan. The Portuguese ex-pro says he wants to 'improve the team' without spending millions in transfers. He wants to work with the team to improve it. "If I don't do that I would not be happy with myself" is what he says. If it were up to him he would start immediately, as he claims, he does not need a holiday. In his words; happiness is stronger than tiredness.

When having a limited knowledge of football, like me, hiring an ex-trainer who loves the club, has plenty of managing experience and has won numerous prizes looks like a great idea. I know he is a very popular trainer, and was a popular pro-football player, and that most Chelsea fans are thrilled to have him back. Ron Gourlay, director of Chelsea, welcomed him with open arms. He already helped Chelsea to win the championship in 2004-2005, so I have faith that he can do it again. He is going to take over from interim boss Rafael Benitez after working at Real for 3 years.

  1. Although Jose Mourinho never played a professional football match in his life and is certainly not an ex-Chelsea player, I do agree with the fact that he is the right coach for Chelsea at the moment. He is a manager who is capable of winning prices, but he is also known for his tendency to create chaos and troubles at clubs.
